Xyla 100% natural xylitol: Giveaway of the natural sugar alternative

We love it because it tastes so good but we hate it because it’s making us fatter. We have a love hate relationship with it. Would you believe that we now have a sugar alternative called xylitol and it’s actually good for our health.

sugar alternative

Xyla is a 100% natural xylitol white crystalline granule that looks and tastes just like sugar. This product is made only in North America from hardwood trees, and Xyla is the xylitol brand to watch. It also has an enormous list of benefits and can be used in place of sugar.

Xyla has 40% less calories and 75% less carbohydrates than sugar, so it’s slowly metabolized.  It stabilizes insulin and hormone levels, is naturally anti–microbial and is also a natural substance found in our bodies.

Studies support xylitol as the healthy sugar alternative. As a natural insulin stabilizer, it doesn’t cause spikes in insulin levels like sugar does and offers prevention of tooth decay, plaque, osteoporosis and middle-ear infections.

It comes in a 1lb. bag $7.99, 2 lb. a canister $14.99, box of 100 sachets $8.99. It is available in Xyla gum, mints, candy, chocolate, lollipops, jam and various condiments.

It can be purchased online http://store.xylitolcanada.com/ at Whole Foods, London Drugs, Bulk Barn, Choices Market, and at http://www.xylitolcanada.com/store-listing/

All is well but really how does it measure up in baked goods and is there any after taste or does it have any artificial additives?

I used it in my muffins as a sugar alternative with a one part Xyla to one part sugar. I completely eliminated the sugar in the muffin recipe and I can honestly say that they were extremely delicious and I didn’t know the difference. I also shared the muffins with family and when I told them there was no sugar added they were surprised because the muffins tasted really good!

Now for the giveaway, I have one 2 lb. canister and a box of 100 sachets of Xyla to give away to one lucky winner which will be selected July 20 2013. Simply visit Xyla websites, comment or share the article with friends to let us know which Xyla product you would like to try?
