My husband is Italian so we eat pasta regularly. I love fresh pasta and when I’ve got the time to make it, I will entertain myself in the kitchen to prepare home made pasta from scratch. This week with my hubby was home, I was able to make pasta sauce and all from scratch.
I was reviewing the Herbivoracious Cookbook by Michael Natkin a vegetarian cookbook containing 150 vibrant and original vegetarian recipes. Meatless dishes these days feature as much depth in spices and flavours making this lasagna tasted no different. It is the first lasagna I’ve made that I could taste every single ingredient making if taste and smell fresh out of the garden.
Below is a photo of the “Green bean salad with arugula pesto,” another great dish from the Herbivoracious Cookbook. It will certainly grab anyone’s attention at the table by it’s colour. I loved the taste of this dish with the mint mixed in giving it a nice light taste, a perfect summer side. I did serve this with a BBQ steak that when nicely with it.
I find the cookbook has a lot of great side dishes you can add with meat, I do eat meat! However if you are a vegetarian, you will enjoy earthy flavoured dishes in the cookbook. They are all made from scratch which enables you to taste and savour each bite.
