How to make a LUNCHMATE for almost 50% off

We received our free product coupon for new Lunchmate + Fruit Chicken from Schneiders and wanted to see what the hype was about this new product.

For the price of: $3.99 you receive:

  • 8 Schneiders Country Naturals oven roasted chicken breast slices with natural ingredients and no preservatives added between 8 wheat crackers and cubes of marble and cheddar cheese.
  • Side of fruit salad from Del Monte.

I am going to show moms how they can “save money” by making your own Lunchmate snacks for almost 50% off without using coupons (this was using the lowest price I could find for Lunchmate snacks)!

Instead of the 8 crackers that are included in the Lunchmate you can purchase a full box of Dare Breton Crackers – Multigrain size 225g for a cost of $1.99 and save money by purchasing a bulk lot of the same type of crackers.

These cost $1.99 each and with 54 crackers in box each cracker costs 3.6 cents.

Substitute Lunchmate cheese and buy a larger portion that you can cut into smaller pieces. I substituted Armstrong Cheddar (300g size) and 1 serving is 30g, so each serving costs 39 cents. This could have been cheaper using a 75 cents off printable coupon but lets not consider coupons in the calculation.

Oven Roasted Chicken Breast

The Lunchmate only has 2 full slices of Schneiders Country Naturals Oven Roasted Chicken Breast so if you bought this in larger quantity 175 g, it would only cost $4.97. So effectively, $0.91 per serving.

Del Monte Fruit Cups

Each cup bought in a 4-pack is only $0.50 so this is a great deal to buy in bulk.

How to easily replace the container:

I actually use this as an adult and I love this container for salads.  Take a close look at the EasyLunchbox system. It  makes it simple to organize, and quickly pack healthy lunches without wasting money, time, paper or plastic.

The bottom has three compartments to hold an entree or sandwich and two side dishes. The fitted lid (which comes in 4 colors) covers all three compartments at once. No more squished sandwiches, mismatched plastic container pieces to keep track of (matching up all those bottoms and lids was the thing that drove me nuts!) or wasteful baggies.
