There are so many reasons to have oatmeal for breakfast starting with the health benefits oatmeal provides. The main reason I eat oatmeal is for the health benefits and because it is quick, easy and convenient to make.
It is a effortless breakfast option that provides gain for the whole family although I hear some families complain their children don’t like oatmeal. Citrus Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal
Frugal and healthy recipe for amazing oatmeal.

Cook time: 6 mins
Total time: 11 mins
Recipe Type: Breakfast
- 1 cup of ready oats
- 1/4 cup of bran flakes
- 1 tbsp of cinnamon
- 1 orange zest
- Handful of raisins
- 2 cups of water
- rest of orange for serving
- Add all ingredients to a 2 quart saucepan
- Zest orange and mix in with ingredients
- Pour in 2 cups of water
- Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally
- Turn down to simmer
- Cook until thick and creamy, about 5-7 minutes, stirring a few times
- Cut up orange and add on top for serving
- Sprinkle a few more raisins on top.
