Well, for our regular readers, you will know that we have been gone December and January. We were in Florida, Carribean, England, Italy, Greece, Spain, Turkey, and Portugal. We ate really well for a few months but in Europe we really enjoyed coffee and sweets (too much – photos in subsequent posts)! So after reading a timely article in one of our favorite magazines, Whole Living Magazine, we decided to try this three-week cleanse. The recipes in this magazine are really well-tested and not complicated. We also like to try new food combinations and recipes.
We aren’t doing the Cabbage soup diet or water with cayenne pepper diet or Atkins, just plain whole food while cutting down our delicious black coffee in the morning and sweets!
This diet is heavy on lentils, fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, oils and seasonings. What I like about this cleanse is that while there are 45 recipes in the cleanse, you can improvise meals and simply follow the ingredient guidelines for each week. Week 2 introduces fish and gluten-free grains and eggs in Week 3.
Here is a link to the 2013 Whole Living Action Plan, so if you want to join us, please feel free at any time.

The menu is heavy on lentils (we enjoy these and eat these quite frequently), but best of all most of the ingredients are in season and quite affordable so I recommend that you take a look at the cleanse closer and let us know your thoughts and if you have any tips or tricks?
We plan on blogging throughout the entire experience and plan on sticking out the whole plan.
BTW, the Mango tahini smoothie this morning was interesting – not very sweet but the lime juice was nice.
