Attending the ShesConnected Conference 2012 was an eventful weekend filled with learning  and networking with some of the best Canadian digital women. I have a lot to share but will only give you the highlights!

Favorite speaker at ShesConnected Conference 2012

My favourite speaker was Kate White, Editor in Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine and her motivational talk. Her words of wisdom really hit home with me from this extremely successful gutsy women I will take her advice.

I also picked up her latest book  “I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This: Success Secrets Every Gutsy Girl Should Know”I am certainly looking forward to the plane ride home on Tuesday when I get a chance to dive into it.

Workshops at ShesConnected Conference

The workshops were loaded with information on integrating social media tools which I heavily participated in learning. This will give me better ways of delivering our frugal tips and tricks to our much loved viewers. Yes, that is you!

I am happy to report to you that we will be broadcasting much more YouTube videos. I will share my frugal ways in the kitchen so keep your eyes out and subscribe to the Grocery Alerts Channel.   Thanks to Laura Berg, founder of My Smart Hands the YouTube guru on baby sign language. She answered some questions and assured me the confidence that was holding me back!

Grocery Alerts also had the opportunity to speak to a group of influential bloggers on monetizing  and optimizing their blogs to generate income. Along side of me sat the lovely Danielle Connelly from Mother of Deal. She makes deal hunting easy. The strong hard working Christine Culley Owner of MommyMatter, a community site of moms that vent, share and relax.
