imageGrocery Alerts reviewed Alter Eco Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is the first Whole Trade Guaranteed, USDA Certified 100% Organic, Carbon Zero Certified Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Palestine. Planted, picked, and processed by Whole Trade Guaranteed cooperatives in Jenin, West Bank, Alter Eco selects the highest quality olives with perfectly balanced flavor, aroma, and acidity while maintaining their Whole Trade Guarantee to help empower marginalized rural communities.

It tasted amazing. You can taste the rich taste of olives in each spoonful. This is perfect to use on top of some fresh pasta with some garlic or tasting with expensive balsamic vinegar. The olives used are native to this area. I have never tasted an olive oil like this.image

We also reviewed their Organic Red Quinoa. I have tasted quinoa before but every grain here was bursting full of flavour and rich colour. The red was a stark contrast to the typical plain brown colour.

It would be amazing as a side dish or in a salad.

Here is a link to a Youtube video where we made a recipe using this (Quinoa Casserole).

Quinoa is an ancient cereal grain that grows in the Andes Mountains of South America, and has been cultivated in the region for more than 5,000 years. Locally referred to as the ‘mother grain’ and as a ‘protein powerhouse’, it kept the Incan armies strong and robust. Quinoa is nutritionally charged and is considered one of the best sources of protein and amino acids by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
