Goodness Me it's Gluten Free

Goodness Me it’s Gluten Free

According to the Canadian Celiac Association “Celiac disease is a medical condition in which the absorptive surface of the small intestine is damaged by a substance called gluten. This results in an inability of the body to absorb nutrients such as protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, which are necessary for good health.”

It is also estimated that 1 in 133 Canadians have Celiac disease. To me that is a heck of a lot of people effected. It is much more challenging for people that suffer from Celica disease to make and bake food. The ingredients can be harder to find and often more costly.  To bring awareness we hunted out an award wining Gluten Free cookbook that is packed with delicious recipes, “Goodness Me it’s Gluten Free.” In this cookbook you will find a special blend or mix to make all your Gluten Free baking hassle free. Unfortunately due to copy right laws I am not able to publish the special blend online however you can order the book through Amazon.ca.  It is certainly worth checking out.

Last month in May we celebrated Celiac Disease. I thought it was a great follow up to provide our readers some further information and tools to help anyone that might be affected.

Do you know of anyone that suffers from Celiac Disease? If so, please pass this book along. I’ve tried it to see if the recipes stacked up to the originals and classics, I think you will be surprised to that the cookbook does offer some great tasting recipes. All the recipes are made with their special blend, it’s like a replacement for flour. In the book you will find common recipes that are Gluten Free such as Banana Cake, Chocolate Chip cookies and even Waffles, Scones and breads.

The cookbook is written by a mother and daughter Vanessa and Mary Hudson, whose family first encountered the need to eat gluten free because of Celiac diagnosis throwing the family’s eating habits into chaos. Frustrated that they could no longer eat baked goods they launched Goodness Me Ltd. and sold bread mixes through their website. (Goodnessme.co.nz) As the years passed they decided to create a cookbook to share the secrets of their gluten free bread and baking mixes.

Today this book has won awards and is the 3rd Best Health Cookbook in the  world and Best 1st cookbook in New Zealand.

Help us bring awareness and share this amazing cookbook packed with delicious recipes to your friends and family who need one of life’s simple pleasures and indulgences of delicious baking.
