Finally we caved in to test for ourselves whether buying a Costco membership was worth it. There was both great deals and terrible deals to be found at Costco.
We did buy extra JUMBO portions of trout and baking goods that I found would be great to add to my pantry and my freezer.
We bought 2 large pieces of trout that was cut into 4 meal size portions with approximately 4 servings per meal (4 servings x 4 meals = 16 servings) for $27.
We picked up a JUMBO bag (2.4kg) of Hershey’s Chocolate chips to make cookies and muffins for $13.49 and the single 375g of Hershey’s Chocolate chips sells for $3.79:
Cost Comparison for Hershey’s Chocolate Chipits:
$13.49 (JUMBO 2.4g) $0.56/100g

i love costco for some things but one thing over the years i have noticed is that the bigger the bag of food, the more the kids will eat.
When i buy a smaller container they seem to treasure it longer! and with 5 boys that was crucial or they would eat and eat and eat, costing more and more
I always get the Mrs. Foley’s choc chips at Costco. They come in a box and I fill my container for the cupboard and then keep the rest in the freezer. They are the semi-sweet choc and are smaller than the Hersey’s chips which we like. Lasts for ages!
