HI :) help needed for Calgary

I live in Calgary SW AB and was at the Walmart on McLeod trail. The greeter mentioned that there is someone that shops there regularly that gets very good deals with coupons( paying next to nothing). She carries a folder for her coupons. I would love to tag along and get some hints as I don't seem to be getting it for saving money. Please post in this thread if it is you and you are willing to help me out. Thank you so much.

I do understand how it works.. I am not just getting how to do it effectively. I use the two coupon sites etc. I am tired of spending 85.00 bucks (original bill was 95.00 so I saved only 10bucks).

    Hi Susan ...

Not sure if you were aware, but many sites post weekly coupon "match ups"..
what this is a guide to each week's store flyers, and each coupon that matches a sale that week.
I post some of those here on this site ( see the Shoppers Drug mart post this week)
and I also post all the main store flyers in Canada on my blog @ http://canadiancouponsnfreebies.com/?page_id=40
That is very helpful to most people .. as you can make a solid plan before shopping, as well as understand exactly
how much can be saved. Also, Because you are in Alberta ( as am I) we are lucky, and we can "stack" coupons here at
London Drugs, Save On Foods, and Fields currently. Stacking coupons is using more than one coupon per item.
That is a great way to really maximize your savings!
We also post on the forum here all the best sales & deals we can find !
    The best way to start ( to be effective) is to always wait until a item is on a great sale, combine that with a coupon,... for example;
let's say a bottle of shampoo is regular priced at $5 a bottle... if I wait for it to go on sale at $3, then use a $2 off coupon, I am saving
$4 ! And if you were able to gather the correct coupons to stack at any of the stores that I mentioned above which currently allow
coupon stacking, you can easily get it for free !
I do this all the time.. there are tons of products that I refuse to pay anything for ... shampoo being one !
    Does that help some?
I am very happy to help you know how to save .. just let me know exactly how I can help

I guess with me it is the organizing of coupons and lists... I do see the coupon shopping deals lists and that does help (thank you by the way ). My issue is knowing and finding out how you get stuff so cheap.. I never seem to get the shopping deals like others do and I keep thinking I am doing something wrong.

I don;t think you are doing anything wrong... it takes some time & practise. .. and one of the reasons we started this forum was to have a great place for everyone to come & discuss exactly how they get all the great deals & shopping savings !
Try & be patient with yourself.. just as in anything else, practise makes it some easier...
Have you tried coupon stacking yet Susan ?

I have only been able to find stacking to work for the dishwasher soap at London Drugs. Most of my other coupons now come at the bottom saying something about not being allowed to be used with other coupons.. I forget the exact wording.

There are many different stipulations on each coupon... but there are MANY that can be stacked, even if they say "cannot be combined with other offers/coupons" ... what that usually means is that coupon cannot be used with another coupon EXACTLY the same .. meaning the same UPC / coupon code.
There are thousands of coupons that are stackable.
I would be happy to help you with a few specifically to get you started ..
just post some of the different UPC coupons you have for the same product, and I can "walk you though" so to speak.
stacking is awesome once you get the hang of it !

    Hi Mongrann,
