How Canadians can watch MTV, CBS, Hulu, Pandora and more

There is no shortage of free websites that let you watch tv in Canada, but what about those shows that aren’t streamed online in Canada on Hulu and MTV?

Have you ever used Hulu?

We found a free service (until July 1, 2012) that allow you to access US restricted content ( US IP address only visible).

We used this on our Mac (our alternative to a television) and it works great. Usually, when you access US-only websites you get this error message:

“Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States

Hulu is committed to making its content available worldwide. To do so, we must work through a number of legal and business issues, including obtaining international streaming rights. Know that we are working to make this happen and will continue to do so. Given the international background of the Hulu team, we have both a professional and personal interest in bringing Hulu to a global audience.”

Using this service you resemble a PC from the United States and can access their great content like:

We were able to watch old tv shows from their archive and new programs that are for Hulu only. If you have a Netflix subscription you can also use this service to view what our neighbours see in the United States using your Canadian Netflix account.
It was a breeze to setup on Mac (remember to deactivate when accessing Canadian websites after).
