One of the first things you notice about Chicago as soon as you arrive in the heart of the city is the number of tall skyscrapers.
With a population of 2.7 million which is the 3rd most populated city in the US and over 31.9 million tourists each year, there is something to do and see for everyone.
To kick start my trip to Chicago for BlogHer13 I had the privilege to participate in a Fireworks Seadog Cruise. The Seadog cruise offered an exciting and extravagant ways to see and experience Chicago from the water.
We cruised along Lake Michigan on a speedboat. Then they parked up and served champagne. I got to see stunning panoramic views of the Chicago skyline at night and a dazzling firework show. It was the perfect way to say hello to CHICAGO and start off my time in the beautiful city. I certainly felt like a welcomed tourist.
If that wasn’t fantastic enough, I met the famous US Extreme Couponer, Nathan Engles from WeUseCoupons.com. My only regret was not asking for a photo with him. Maybe next time.
I also had a chance to meet a lovely lady, a Blogger, Mom and Creative Catalyst, Julie Nowell from 3chickensandaboat.com that lives just across the water from me on Salt Spring Island.
Great people, good champagne, perfect location = Fabulous experience to kick start BlogHer13 in Chicago!
What is BlogHer13 Conference? For those of you who are not bloggers you might not know so I’m going to share. BlogHer13 was an event to help women (and a few men) learn how to blog, make money through blogging, and learn to manage social media. BlogHer Conferences is also one of the biggest blogging conferences!
The sponsors? I certainly want to mention MadameDealMedia.com and say thank you for inviting me to participate and experience Chicago at it’s best!
