American Express AIR MILES Platinum Card: No Annual Fee First Year, 2000 Free AIR MILES

I am a big fan of frequent flyer miles and travel (this is related to groceries if you collect AIR MILES). My family and I enjoy to travel and one way we can afford to do it in Canada is we try to use frequent flyer miles and look to save money as much as possible.

AIR-MILES-PLATINUM

One of the reasons I love AIR MILES is that they are flexible. You see you can redeem 95 AIR MILES for $10 gift cards on everything from gas, groceries, and even Starbucks.

They have a new chart where you basically type your province and where you want to visit and they have different miles depending on if the flight is in low season or high season.

If you apply for the AMEX AIR MILES Platinum card you earn 2,000 AIR MILES with no annual fee the first year (you can’t lose).

This card has no annual fee for the first year so you can and your spouse can each get this card and then evaluate after 10 or so months if it is worth it keeping. I recommend re-evaluating and looking for other promotions (as this is how you earn the most miles).

  • Earn 1 reward mile for every $10 in Card purchases at AIR MILES Sponsors
  • Earn 1 reward mile for every $10 in Card purchases at other eligible grocery stores, gas stations, and drugstores in Canada
  • Plus, earn 1 reward mile for every $15 in Card purchases everywhere else

You are earning a nice bonus for using our link!

The other major benefit includes Complimentary Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance. Take advantage of this coverage by simply declining the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or similar option offered by the car rental company, and fully charge your rental to the American Express AIR MILES Platinum Card.

There’s no additional charge for this coverage, and you save yourself the daily insurance fee charged by the car rental company.

Please make sure that you understand the seriousness of credit – I only like to promote deals and savings to our readers that I know would save money.

Disclosure: For referring you to this card, I would receive a referral bonus of 500 AIR MILES for each approved referral. I appreciate your support of the blog!

Remember that once you sign up for this card, you can also refer your friends and family to receive the 500 AIR MILES referral bonus.

Here is the sign-up link.

Enjoy and if you have any questions please let me know (I love to help).
